About Me

Testing, Testing 123: Phlebotomy Basics

When my mother underwent chemotherapy, we spent a lot of time visiting the phlebotomy lab for blood testing. I was always impressed by how easily the phlebotomist was able to find and puncture a vein to draw blood on the first try. I knew there had to be a method to it, and was astounded by how effortless and painless they made the process. It led me to research a lot about blood tests, from drawing to the actual screening. I've created this site to share what I've learned in the hopes of teaching others. The more you understand, the more control you can have over your own health care.

4 Ways To Take Care Of Your Skin This Spring

by Francisco Arnold

Just as you clean your house, you should clean up your skincare routine. Take proper care of your skin this spring by looking at your skin care routine from a holistic approach.

#1 Reduce Your Makeup

It is time to change the makeup you are wearing. If you were wearing a liquid foundation in the winter due to its moisturizing properties, it is time to change foundation tactics. Liquid moisturizer may create a very smooth look, but it is also really clogging for your pores.

For the hotter spring and summer months, switch to a mineral-based powder foundation. Use one that is hypoallergenic to reduce irritation to your skin. Powder-based foundations can give you a beautiful glow without being as damaging to your skin.

#2 Freshen Up Your Face

Get ready to freshen up your face and give it some professional attention after a harsh winter. Talk with your dermatologist and figure out what type of professional rejuvenation is right for your particular skin conditions. If you have wrinkles, you may also want to consider getting some dermal fillers this spring, which can help give your face more volume as you head into the warm weather portion of the year.

#3 Focus on Cleansing

It is time to step up your face washing routine. You may be able to get away with washing your face once a day in the winter, but in the warmer months, you should wash your face twice a day.

Washing your face in the morning helps get rid of bacteria and dirt that build up on your face overnight. Plus, a morning face washing often feels refreshing and can help wake you up.

Washing your face in the evening is the best way to remove all your makeup from your face. This also reduces the impact of dirt and pollution that come into contact with your face during the day.

#4 Spend Some Time Exfoliating

Make sure to add some exfoliation to your skincare routine. You shouldn't exfoliate every day, but exfoliating once or twice a week is perfect. Exfoliating provides many benefits. It can help refresh your skin and unclog your pores.

This spring, freshen up your skincare routine. Switch to mineral based powder foundation instead of liquid foundation. Start washing your face twice and day and remember to exfoliate one to two times a week. Schedule an appointment with dermatology services for some rejuvenation treatment. Treat your skin well this spring.
